Pat Gilbreath Endorsed by Press Enterprise

In an editorial released October 20, Pat Gilbreath was endorsed by the Press Enterprsie.  “Gilbreath is an easy choice, as she has been a consistent vote against deficit spending”, the endorsement stated.  “Gilbreath, a four-term incumbent, has been a reliable vote against unbalanced budgets. She grasps that trimming employee pay and benefits to sustainable levels — as tough as that may be — is the only rational way to fix the city’s finances. A retired accountant, she brings financial sense to a city government that has preferred to ignore fiscal reality.”

“I am pleased to have received their endorsement,” Gilbreath stated.  “The support that I continue to receive show’s me that my ideas for Redlands’ are in line with the citizens of this wonderful city.  I am hopeful that I will be able to continue serving the citizens of Redlands on the City Council”.

Pat Gilbreath for City Council

Redlands’ city budget still needs to balance. Economic development still needs to grow. Commuter rail still needs to come to Redlands.

These are just a few of the reasons I have decided to again seek election to the City Council.

Much mindful consideration went into this decision. During that thoughtful process, I was reminded of what I have known all along. I care deeply about the City of Redlands. I am compelled to serve. I am uniquely prepared to do the work that needs to be done.

Another term on the City Council will allow me to continue as the council’s “budget watchdog,” and use fiscally conservative practices to help guide the city through its current economic crisis and bring the budget into balance.

Another term will allow me an opportunity to continue to foster economic development and finish work to extend the Metrolink rail to Redlands–two goals, that when achieved, will stimulate the local economy, increase revenue to the city, and make Redlands a destination.

There is much work to be done. Your continued support will allow me to do that work which will help ensure a more fiscally sound and economically vibrant future for Redlands.

I ask for your endorsement, which is of great value, and that if possible, you support me with a check. I don’t ask that lightly. I am aware of the challenges posed by the current economic climate. No amount is too small. And you can feel confident I will make the most of every contributed dollar.

I greatly appreciate your past support and thank you in advance for your future support. Together we can do what is good and right for Redlands.
